Hey. I noticed many complaints from gamers about the two games that are out featuring Lightnings, "FORD RACING"(Which I understand was very bad) and "PROJECT GOTHAM RACING 2"(This game looked like the character model was beautiful..but there was allot of controversy about whether or not there was any blower sound...if its a Lightning, thats ALL you should hear)...either the character models weren't correct or the ever-popular and desired S/C whine was totally absent ..well, now it's on. "TOCA: RACE DRIVER 2 THE ULTIMATE RACING SIMULATOR" features 01/02 Lightnings...complete with DEAFENING whine, and is one sweet game, getting good/great reviews from magazines & websites. Was released April 15 I believe. Have a few pics of the character model, and will try and post an mpeg vid. of me playing it where the whine is PAINFULLY apparent. Its about 1 min. long though. I do 2 runs, and switch views a few times to give you an idea of the versatility, as the sound varies slighly depending on whether your looking at the tailgate or riding in the ****pit.(Got censored...umm..how about Kokpit) If I can get the vid. up, try & peel your ears away from the blower whine long enough to notice the fire-filled backfire from the passenger-side pipes during downshifts when I slam on the brakes.. Sorry the image is a bit grainy, its taken with a 2meg camera and is a huge big screen TV, but my surround sound makes for a nice loud S/C experience. None of the nay-sayers can claim this Lightning experience doesn't include the trademark screech...

Sweet, I was on the fence on whether or not to buy this game... I guess you just helped me make up my mind!

Yeah, I agree with that. But it seems to be mostly in first, on takeoff. It has that "over-quick" rev, and red-line bounce that seems common in most racing games. But it sounds solid at speed and at idle. The xbox live feature makes it sweet though...race other L fans around the world. Im gonna pick up Gotham 2 today and see how it compares.

Gotham 2 is a cool game. The L looks great but is not much fun to drive It kinnda gets taken out by stuff like the new AMG merc. Still a good game thought.

 

Looks like you have a 5 speed lightning in that game.

The Lightning in the game does leave a bit to be desired however kicking the bejesus out of ML55's and Cayenne's is rather enjoyable.

Plenty of Howling Eaton in both the L and the Cobra.

But I read somewhere that it would be out for Playstation 2 in July

I think it comes out on PC tomorrow
