brandishing your weapon shoudln't be an offense as long as you're doing it to halt another CRIME.

if our friend here shot in the air or at him he'd have his liscense to carry removed and would probably have felony charges against him...

kinda unfair I think. back in the 1800's you shot people and threatened to shoot when you caught them stealing.

No wonder crime and death rate was lower back then... Librals have no clue about our own safety.

Thats right. Here in Texas you can use deadly force to protect your property. So yes, that means you can blast someone for breaking into or vandalizing your vehicle.

When I was taking my concealed handgun class I asked that specific question. The police officer teaching the class said yes you can shoot them but make sure they are dead when you are done because you dont want the bastard to sue you for wounding them. Also said a conceiled handgun license is not required in this scenario.

Georgia has liberal and reasonable gun laws BUT if you confront someone attempting to steal your car or property,
that is not considered a threat to your life...therefore you can't shoot them...now if they try to break in your house that's another matter. On the other hand, if they are trying to steal your car and threaten you, then you can properly and clearly defend yourself.

Thats what them powerful slingshots that are sold for hunting are really good for. Get you some steel marbles and light that fugger up without ever letting him see you. Then you call the police to have him picked up. Hand cuff him and slam his nutz in the door of your truck and tell the police he'll be waiting for them to pick him up.

Thats why I'd never catch anyone doing something like that....I'm too prepared for it.

from my understanding, is it basically true that if you shoot someone and they live, no matter what they are going to sue you. And if they die the family will sue you?

I don't want to shoot anyone, but i sure wish i could buy a HK MP5a4 or a steyr aug, or maybe even a UMP. And i've always wanted one of those old enfield bolt action rifles the british army used in WWI the SMLE. That gun was awesome.

Guy here in New Orleans shot at two kids breaking into
his car, from thirty yards away he hit one of them twice.
He just reciently pleaded to a lesser charge and received
a suspended sentance, he could have received a Five year
jail term. I caught a neighbor kid messing with my truck, he
ran but I recognized him. My son told him I wanted to talk
to him and he came to see me. I told him I wasn't going to call police,BUT if anything happened to my truck, guess who I'd blame.
Now I have an extra set of eyes watching over my truck LOL
