How come F-250's don't have "torque reduction?"

Same tranny in the F-250, much more torque from the turbo diesel than Lightnings, and Ford is not worried about the tranny's life span in F-250's? Plus, F-250's are allowed to pull over double what a Lightning can tow. Same tranny, less torque in the Lightning, less weight in the Lightning, and less pulling load in the Lightning.

I thought the L had a lighter casting/housing.
Usually it is housing flex that causes misalignment and then the gears eat themselves...
Greg ?

Well, the short answer is because the Powerstroke never commands the 1-2 shift at 5200 RPMs, but it's a little more detailed than that, too. Suffice to say, RPMs and difference in RPMs after the event matter.
