2004 Lightning...
2004 Lightning...
I have decided that I want to trade in my 2002 Mustang GT with 54K miles on her due to Sawgrass Ford here in South Florida offering me 13K for the trade in.
I was waivering between an 04 Lariat or Lightning. Well, I've decided on the Lightning. I'll be signing the papers for my townhome's refinancing this Friday and will depositing my check. Once I pay off all the credit card debt I'm left with approximately $5500 from a $12400 check. ( Damn credit debt!)
Anyway, I have been researching prices on the L's for a while now and wanted to know what a good offer on a Sonic Blue 04 would be?
The prices are in the 33,500 range, but I've read on various message boards that guys are getting out the door at around 28-29K with an X plan.
My neighbor, who was a mechanic for Ford was going to give me a pin number for X plan, but had to move back to New York two months ago.
How can I obtain a pin code for X plan and use it effectively without Ford demanding personal information about who provided the pin?
I appreciate it your time guys. Just trying to enter the realm of SVT after all these years drooling over Cobras and Lightnings, I just might be able to finally have one.
* I decided not to get a Cobra due to functionality of the L's truck bed and driving a GT for the last 2.5 years.
Any help is appreciated,
Jake

You should be able to find some information in this forum on using the x-plan. You have to give Ford some basic information to get it, but it's not a big deal.
Just go to various Ford related message boards and ask for one, eventually someone will get one for you. I bought my '01 on x-plan and that's a great way to go.

Ditto what MHMCGILL said.
The x-plan price on a Lightning is around $29,500, but you can buy them for less than that now. I paid $28,200 (plus tax/license) for my new '04 just over a month ago, plus I have seen them advertised for $27,999 by a local dealer here. Just check around at a coupld of dealerships - it shouldn't be to hard to find one for $28k-$29k.

Is that 28,200 on the X plan, or just the offer you gave them?
here is a link to the dealers that sell lightings in your area.

I would start at a dealer who has the most on the lot and they might be running an unadvertised speical on the L. I know the dealer up here that was selling them was selling his for 25-28k and now he only lists one on the lot for 34k. Hope this helps you some.
good luck in your search.

thanks
Thanks. I plan to contact a few stealerships and basically pit them against one another by using trade in offers and reduced sale prices. Sawgrass Ford is one of the largest here in Florida. They currently have 8 lightnings on the lot, so I'll start there. If they will take 29 - 29,500, honor last weeks offer of 13K for the Mustang GT, and give me 72 months at 2.9 - 4.9 APR, with 4K down payment ...then I'll be driving home in a Lightning Saturday!
Negative Equity
Well, even if they honor their offer of 13K for my Stang trade in, I'll still have around $2800 remaining in negative equity. So I'm using most of my remaining funds from the re-financing of my townhouse to offset some of it. I figure with $4000 down payment...I'll be out of the red in a few years. You never know. I don't count on this going through until I'm pulling away in the Lightning. ( ... and no one is chasing me to return it!)
I thought i put some miles on my truck I have had it for a 1year and have 36k on it already. Im guessing you do alot of highway driving huh. I would still think that they would give you more then 13 for it though.
