Passanger floor wet?

I pulled up the carpet on my 03L last night on the passneger sight looking for a place to go through the floor with my WBO2 sensor and noticed the carpet padding was wet!!!!!!

Any idea why its getting wet or has anyone had this problem. I dont even drive this truck in the rain <shrug>

Bob

If it's not antifreeze from the heating coil (yellow color and sweet smell) and it has'nt been in the rain then it's probably condensate from the AC coil. The drain may be clogged up making the condensate back up and spill into the cab.

Sounds like a heater core under the dash if you smell coolant.

guys, it called a heater CORE, not a COIL.

and the A/C part under the dash is the EVAPORATOR, not an a/c coil.

BTW, to the original poster, the windshield could be leaking, it's a very common problem on expeditions.

good luck.

later,
chris

Kind of off topic

Which Wide Band did you go with? I finnaly got my Wide Band Commander, after waiting 3 months on a Group Purchase, from extreme motorsports. I have to go out of town for a few days, but I plan on starting the install when I get back. If you went with the WBC, let me know how the install went.

Lilke LE PEW said it's probably the drain on the AC. Same thing happened to my '03 L and it took two trips back to the dealer for them to figure it out. Your dealer should have gotten a bulletin about the drain a while back.

I also got a new carpet and pad out of it.

My 03 leaked once last Fall on the pass side. I dried it out good and it looked like it came down from around the floor outlet above the transmission tunnel. I stuffed wax paper up under there as far as I could and formed an apron that extends out over my floor mat. Wouldn't you know it - hasn't leaked again in spite of some horrendous rains. I'm pretty convinced it was condensate. Now that I'm running the AC again I'm keeping a close eye on it. Hate to take it to the dealer without a good idea of exactly what the problem is. I asked the dealer about it and got the old "beats me but if you'll leave it with us for awhile I'm sure we can do something with it" story. I figure they are just shooting in the dark.
