Exclamation Large vacum hose

Just a bit of info, changing plugs today found the large vacum hose leading to the green caped port on firewall. Which is connected to one of the large vacum stubs on the blower. It is all dried out. When you touch it it looks like charcoal dust. You might want to look at the one one your truck. Mine is an 01. Artie

Mine appears to be dry rotted as well. The shop manual calls it a "9G271 EVAP Emission Return Tube" but I can't seem to find the actual Ford part number. It looks like regular fuel line hose. Anyone know the part number of the Ford part, or can I use regular hose? Anyone know the ID?

I replaced that hose earlier this year while I was cleaning my IC, it was in ame condition. Dry rotted and woul turn to a charcoal like substance if touched. its a $30 part from ford. Don't remember the PN though.

Thanks, Jeff, but $50 is a little steep for an 18" piece of 3/8" fuel hose.

I called my local dealership and the parts dude said that the hose (by itself) has been discontinued. I asked him what I should do and he suggested the same thing that I just did... I bought an 18" piece of 3/8" ID fuel hose and replaced the rotten piece. Total cost for the repair: $4.

Mines the same way. I'd replace it if I wasn't gonna just remove the whole evap system later on. But I am.

That part number was wrong...I used it from an earlier post and after investigating further this is the hose->XL3Z9D289AA 23 bucks from Ford and my guy said its available...Don't know why it wouldn't be when 04 was when they were last made..
