fractal,

Just messin with ya.

I think that slight hesitation is normal. I mash the gas and a milisecond later things come to life.

If your belt is original i suggest replacing it AND getting an idler pulley.

Check the underside of the belt for excess wear and cracking.

It's not a hesitation like in throttle response. It is doing it when it is in the power band before it shifts to the next gear. It is not torque converter lockup either.

With the right belt for your application all you need is the Metco idler set up - in one word it is awesome. I changed my upper with a reichard pulley added the metco, reduced belt dust to almost nothing and I have constant 16lbs on WOT. I highly recommend it!

D-Day

I would have to agree with Dan_03Lightning on the idler and right belt setup

To FLBigDog - I would say grow up, if you dont want to answer the mans question DONT ANSWER IT.

fractaldragon - what you need is the 4080675 gatorback belt. An idler set-up wouldnt hurt, i have one on mine and love the look and no slippage what so ever. The idler set-up will increase the contact area around the supercharger snout pulley.

Some info for you…

I was going to have a toolmaker make me a MATCO style tensioner system. While doing so we found that my belt was easily squeezed together. Meaning that my tensioner was weak. We replaced the belt and the tensioner and no more belt slippage. My truck is now making full boost I run 16 lb of boost on my daily driver.

The moral of the story is before you go out and spend S200. for a METCO system check your belt tensioner.
According to my dyno techs here in the plant, "with high hp applications the tensioner are prone to wear out faster than normal."

Peace, Suavy

OK now another thing to consider.

Not all aftermarket pullies are the same size.
REM Pulleys are slightly bigger than JLP and JDM pulleys are a different size than PSP pulleys.
So call whoever made your particular pulley and find out what they recommend.

OK now another thing to consider.

Don't waste your money on a gatorback belt. all you are paying for is the name. Diesels have been running this type of belt for years and years. Figure out the size you need, go to a diesel shop or store and buy the belt there, it will cost $15 as compared to $45 for a gatorback.

OK now go read Suavy's post again and you should be good to go.

imagine that, answered someones questions without flaming them, can't we all get along?

Suavy:

Good point about the belt "tensioner". I'm sure that due to manufactuing variances, some of us probably have "low" belt tension due to this. If "slippage" seems to be a problem; might be wise to see if the "spec's" on the tensioner can be checked and see what it is. I've noted many in here seem to be able to use the stock belt on both 2lb and 4lb pulleys, but when I put on a 2lb pulley from PSP a couple of months after I had bought it new in 2001, I could not get the stock belt on. Maybe I'm just too weak to muscle it on and I choose not to break off the "tab", and instead put on the next bigger size as recommended by PSP at the time.
