99/00 intercooler leak

I have heard that the 99/00 intercooler has a leaking problem, is this true? where does the leak occur? and is there anyway to prevent this from happening?

Yes, these ALL leaked. There are copper tubes that run from front to back in the intercooler, and the 99/00 design did not enough enough of these. The end result was a split tube spewing coolant throughout the exhaust process. These were all replaced under warranty, but that service bulletin has since expired. Getting that replaced now will big big $$$.

Check the L sites for sale adds or e-bay. You can find intercoolers there often.
