Wish you luck.... Have to love all the BS in this thread. I happen to own a VR-4 (same car as the Stealth TT). The Lightning is my winter beater.

Just so you know that with just a $20 MBC he could run high 12's. Some of you guys get too full of yourselves, the Stealth TT is a faster vehicle than the L.

Are you crazy? Where did you get that number? Why don't you divide by 10.

Stealth TT faster than the L

I would agree, they are quicker than a stock L and are just as easy to modify. BUT, most L's on here that are willing to race are modified to the mid to lower 12's. Either way, a good race is going to happen. Let us know the outcome.

Popular Mechanics got a 13.62 out of a stock 99 lightning, they got a 13.44 out of a stock 3000gt. On the same day. They said right in there that they had to drop the clutch at 6K! to get good times. I don't think a person could do this to much before you broke something... But the vehicles are similar stock. I'm lightly modified, would probably run 12.8 ish on some of those great tracks at sea level.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but stock stealths aren't as fast as new stock Lightnings. When you start modding, mod for mod not dollar for dollar, the stealth is going to still be slower. Not only that, but have one of those 7k transmissions let go on you and tell me about how great the stealth is.

All that from me and I havent owned a lightning in a year and a half.

Wish I had known about this on thursday. I was in Joplin on buisness for 4 days and would have been more than happy to take it to the track. Oh well.

Must be you guys are all stuck on the "L"... yes the stock TT is faster than the L... that's just reality. Don't get me wrong I think that the Lightning is a great truck, which is why I own one (for my hauler to the track).

Also a few points

1.) A brand new tranny for the TT is not 7k, why don't you pull another fictional number out of your a$$

2.) Just because I own a car made in Japan does not make me a ricer. Spreading blatantly false BS on the internet, bench racing is in my book very "ricer-ish". Hmmmm.

3.) Every publication I have ever seen has the TT faster than the L. That just plain ole hard facts.

4.) JimJR, I'm not 15.... but you just might be.

who in their right mind would use an L as a winter beater, let alone call it a winter beater,

.... unless you live in a very arid climate.

you get the A$$hat of the day award for that one lethal.

I live in Iowa, and yes we get snow.

The reason I drive a L in the winter is that I needed a truck to haul my car to the track in the summer and something to drive in the winter. If I had to buy any truck it would be a Lightning, which is why I bought it. It is an awesome truck, I don't have to tell you guys that... me calling it a "winter beater" is my droll humor.

I was just trying to bring people back to reality when I posted that the Stealth TT was faster stock, and thus should be a good race.

Personally, I like all things fast... but I am an old school motorhead I guess... Seeing people think that any one given platform is king and blindly ignoring all else is one of my pet peeves. I see the same thing all the time on all the forums.

This thread is sinking into uselessness.... let get back to subject.

Good luck with the race.

Everyone agreed they were faster stock for stock, why beat the dead horse...........go ahead and drop the clutch at 6 Grand. I enjoy crying ricers picking up gears off the street.

Till then think of another witty comeback besides something related to "Jr". Rice on Terreto.
