what some idiot in a "HEMI" just pulled up beside me at a stoplight and said...

hey guys, I'm at work till 7:00 tonight. I made a dinner run to at about 5:00.

I was driving past the Dodge dealership down the street. they had a "Rumble Bee" whatever that is sitting out front. I pulled in to take a quick peek. they had a viper in the showroom, but no SRT-10s on the lot.

so I pull out of the dealer and resume my dinner run.

I didn't even accelerate hard leaving the dealer. I pass the next light at the other end of the dealership lot where some dodges are waiting to pull out. being as it was just after 5:00 I assume it was some employees cutting out for the day.

I stop in the turning lane at the following light to turn left into taco hell for a nutritious meal.

I look in mirror and one of the dodge trucks that was pulling out of the previous light is coming up behind me with some enthusiasm.

he pulls up beside me (I'm still in the turning lane, he's in a straight lane) and I see him talking at me.

I turn the radio down and say, "what?"

with a silly grin, he says, "It sounds like that thing is breaking up!"

he was trying to insult my truck!

I was dumbfounded. I couldn't believe this idiot in some crapwagon "Hemi" farm truck was talking chit about the Lightning.

then as his light turns green, just before he pulls off, he says something about my truck having the "wrong" name on it. like it should say dodge or something instead of ford.

I'm still in shock or something. what an idiot.

what I should have said:

"That's the sound of HORSEPOWER dodge boy, no wonder you didn't recognize it!"

oh well...

stupid dodge owner...

Yeah... I have no problem with the Hemi. It's a good engine. Good HP compared to the others. Reasobably priced. Solid.
The drivers, on the other hand... are unbelievable. It's because of the stupid commercials that tell them they have the biggest, fastest trucks on the planet. I always get them revving at me, but I hardly every play... and when I do, and blast them of of the light, they still think they win when they whiz by me when I shut down at 60 or so. With that crazy "I got me a Hemi" grin.

I think the only thing that would be breaking up is the poor boys heart when or if you ever open a can of whoop *** on him…

BCNU:

The Rumble Bee has 340-345 HP in HEMI form...which is certainly NOT the "real" Hemi from the 60's or even remotely similiar to the Hemi crate engine (which is certified bad boy grade). I drove one a few weeks ago for the fun of it....It sits taller than the L and has a dressup 60's style cosmetic package.

I understand what it's like...Iv'e had 2 L's
and the most stupid, childish, unprovoked comments have invairably come from dodge truck owners; wheather on the street or at a Chrysler dealership....it's almost as if these people truly can't help their own ignorance....

Superfords,

Does your L have cams?

I pulled in to a pontiac dealership awhile back in the L to look at the new GTO. Some ****ey a-hole salesmen came out and said, "Are you ready for some real power??!" I was like . I told him I wouldn't mind owning the GTO for the wife since it's slower than my L. Told him she wanted a volvo instead and left.

Actually I've heard they've had a couple problems with them already. One of my college professors has one and he said he's researched it when the dealer didn't want to do anything for him. Can't remember what he said the problem was really...maybe something about the sparkplugs (hmmm that sounds familiar).
