Only if this post was directed at me:

I am serious. It's rude flameing new members for asking a question. It reflects poorly on this forum. It's one thing to get in a tiff with guys that have been on here for awhile. This is not the case. I am no kid. I have bills to pay, and family to support with a full time job mr 1982.

dude, if you cant tell, this thread is an obvious joke. my post WAS directed at you because i actually couldnt believe that you were being serious. hes just clowning around. bringing your family and mortgage into this proves nothing...so what if i was born in 1982?? I have a mortgage as well. Im a real estate investor, and own several rental properties. my year of birth has nothing to do with it....oh wait, it does..im just a kid (a kid that can afford his own '03 L)

Am I asking something wrong? It doesn't appear that I asked something right because everyone is joking around, sorry i'm a little new at this.

Also I see that photo of the bearing in the muffler, I always thought that was a joke, are there really muffler bearings?

For those who asked where I got the '97 Lightning, I bought it at CarMax, the sales guy said they were really low production.

Re: New Rods

Ok, just in case this is actually seriuos, and you hit all the branches on the ignorance tree, i'll step up to the plate and explain all this.

Ok your brakes are composes of calipurs and pistons. The pistons (4 of em) push the brake pad against the rotor which stops your vehicle. There are no rods in there, so getting lightweight ones sounds pretty silly, not to mention you don't want lightweight anythign in your brake system anyway.

Domes brake pistons? Yeesh, again, this makes no sense, im pretty sure they start out domed, and changing pistons makes no sense to begin with.

Im pretty sure your mixing brake and engine parts up, go buy an engine book and learn the parts and what they do, then ask questions.

Also yes, the 97 lightning was very very rare, you have the only one in existence apparently.

Me and a friend started taking off the passenger side brake rotor this morning. Neither of us are mechanics, but my friend has some tools. Anyway, once we got the rotor off we could't figure out how to get the wheel back on. There was a rubber line that we didnt know what to do with, so I just cut it and zip tied the open end shut. Hopefully we can find a way to get the wheel back on and then do the other side.

I think that's a K&N inlet bearing...you don't want to put too much oil on it, or Ford will void your warranty. You can get away with a little more lube on the outlet bearing.
