Talking 1st time to dyno. Very pleased

Well, I'm officially now a member of the 400 / 500 club. Went to the dyno today and got the numbers I was looking for. The graph looks a little f'd up because they didn't know where to connect and get a good tach lead. They said they could find the tach lead from the pcm and get a good connection, but we didn't have time for them to do that. I really didn't care, I just wanted to make sure my A/F's were safe and see where my HP was.

The L made 418.2 HP and 510 FT LBS. The run was done on a Dyno Dynamics (Mustang dyno). All in all I'm very pleased. My A/F's were in the 11.7 to 12.1 range by the third pull. The first pull the engine was pretty cool and the A/F's were as low as 10.0. They went a little higher in the second pass, and then a little higher on the third pull.

You can see the torque line is all dotted and jumps up and down and they said that was because the tach lead wasn't getting a good solid signal. I have complete printouts of what the L was doing in 100 RPM increments. HP peak came at 4800. My printout actually shows 418.9 HP at 4800 RPM on the first pull.

Here's the goofy looking graph.

Mart Man,

Very nice numbers there! That's where I wanted to be. We have almost the same mods and I didn't get there. If you don't mind me asking what's the number of the tune on your Predator from JLP? Mine is NLP2PRED14, just wondering if you have the same tune as me? I'm guessing that was on pump gas too? Congrats

Thanks guys. I certainly breathed a big sigh when I saw the 418 HP. I was running on 91 octane pump gas with no addatives. The dyno numbers were corrected, but the correction was a negative not a positive. We had temps of 64 deg and almost no hummidity. Keith, the owner of Force Fed Performance said he could turn the correction off if I wanted and that in my case the numbers would go up because of the ideal conditions. Since most run corrected numbers I asked him to leave it on for consistancy. Also forgot to mention in the first post I'm hitting 14 pounds of boost. Not bad for just a 4 #r and a port job.

With these numbers, should my L run in the 12's in the 1/4 mile?
I'll have to try and make it to the track so I can get that 12 sec club sticker.

Nice numbers! Especially on a Mustang Dyno and 91 octane

You definitely have a 12 sec truck if you know how to drive it! I was running 12's with chip and 4# and stock airbox. Now I have gotten an SCT tuner with a undesirable tune. I only saw 415 hp with my old chip after the port on a Dynojet. Your numbers are borderline unbelievable on a Mustang since they are quite a bit lower than the Dynojets usually

I hear ya. That's why I waited until I got the chart scanned into the gallery so I could post a pic. Didn't want to see the BS flag raised. LOL

Thanks and good luck with your numbers. Do you guys have better fuel octane there? I hate that I can't get some 93 or 94 octane like I see some of you guys can buy at the pumps. California's got some pretty nice weather, but as far as housing cost, taxes, and fuel prices go, IT SUCKS A$$

are you sure that was a mustang dyno? the logo's on your chart look a lot different then mine. My chart says MD Mustang Dynamometer. Your numbers just seem a little high for a mustang with your listed mods. more like a dynojet. If thats what your making thats great
