Ever run the 1/4 in high winds???

I went to the track for the first time yesterday. It was really windy but I really wanted to go out, so I went to US 41 in Indiana, and it was over 90 degrees out and there were 20-30 mph sustained headwinds with even bigger gusts. I'm entirely stock and ran 13.9's all day long (mph around 97-98). I know it was affecting everyone, but I was just wondering if anyone else ran in high winds before and how much it affected you? What do you think I could expect on a normal day?

My 60' times were consistent 2.0, but it was wierd, I never heard the tires break at all and I was mashing the pedal from the tree. I spin all over on the street, so don't you think that a stock L would at least break the F1's at the track too?

Thanks

Been extremely windy at US41 the last 2 times I have gone. It is closeby for me and usually where I go. I did run a 12.78 there though in November into a 25 mph headwind on F1's

We'll have to get together sometime. There are having an event there for SVT only over Memorial Day, but I will probably be moving into our new house that weekend

My stock '04 would chirp and I had a consistant 2.02 60 ft. But the difference between the track and the street is the rubber on the track from the radials and the track prep. If you get a well prepped track, I think it is entirely possible to hookup and not spin the F1s on a stock L.

I saw you on the list. I'm signed up already. Midwest SVT Challenge, US 41, May 28-29. Hopefully I'll see you there, I'd really like to check out your truck. I'll likely head over there again with Hank when he gets back and the other chicagosvt.com people. I'll give you a buzz if I do though.

I never broke mine loose at the track (stock), all depends on track prep, sounds like they have hookin good.
