Angry Problem with third coil pack back on driver side

When re-installing, the bolt snapped. I felt it getting tighter, and I backed it out hoping to correct the problem and get it straight again. This area is so tight to get into, and the 7mm swivel didn't really do its job. Any idea as to how I can get this fixed?? Can it be driven on?
Anyone else ever do this?

I never broke one off, but i did strip the drivers, back 7mm bolt so that it will only thread half way in. I've been driving it like that for 1k miles now because i haven't gotten around to putting some washers to fill the gap. It hasn't given me any problems being loose so i think you could drive it until you get it fixed. Unfortunately, you might need to pull the blower (good time to clean the intercooler) and run an easyout and a tap down the hole. Should definately be fixable, just sucks to do all that work. Good luck

if it looks secure it can be driven on. Plug 3 is kinda hard place to get to, but take a pic if you can, see if maybe you can get some pliers in there and wiggle it out a little. Normally when bolt break like that theres a piece sticking out that you can grab and twist until you can clamp it all the way across the bolt and take it out.

If not, you might have to drill a hole in it and use one of those special bits to take it out, im trying to think how far #3 is in there and im thinking you'll have to fight with the firewall, i'd try a flex head hand drill and see where that got you.

This is the biggest pain in the *** one next to the one behind it. I will have to yank the fuel rail to tap this thing out as it is pretty well buried. Not sure I could even get a drill in there. It snapped clean across with little to no burr, so that won't work easy. Right now, nothing is holding the coil pack down other than friction, and the fact that it cannot come off due to the fuel rail right above it. Maybe Ford designed that feature into it?!?
Going for a test drive now as all modifications have been completed... finally! Going back to fix the snafu is not going to be fun!

Maybe wedge something between the fuel rail and coil pack as a temporary fix?

From: Colorado,
When the time comes to fix. Give it a good couple taps with a punch.
Then take a cutting disc in a dremel and try and cut a slot for screwdriver.
Have someone else tap on the top of the screwdriver while you bear down and twist.
If that don't work then you can cut the other direction to make an X to center your drill bit for the easy out.
Go to church tomorrow before you start

What a P.I.T.A. Good Luck
