Sensor in Air box?

I'm about 1/2 way through the JLP Ram air intake installation.
The instruction say to mark the sensor in the stock airbox and install it in the JLP bow the same way.

well I didn't do this when I had the Airaid and now I haven't a clue for the JLP BOX which way it is supposed to go.

Anyone Help me out?

Does it really matter?

To get a true reading for IAT1 you should have the sensor in the filter so it is reading the temp of the air actually entering the filter and not just the air surrounding around the filter (in the box).

I know the differences may be minimal but if you are data logging it will make a difference.

Like Soap said.

Try to place it in a area that's not a "dead" zone. Try to have it placed where fresh air would be flowing accross it even at light throttle operation.

Sensor "Inside JLP Box"

Outside the Box View
the Original Factory Sensor in the provided hole using the provided gromet.

Mine has never done me wrong, Love the JLP box and think it's the best Cool Air System out there
