Question spark nock issue! please help

Ok I have a spark nock at WOT and my mods are a 4#er, chip, and ProM. If I take my chip out shouldnt the spark nock go away since the timing is back to normal? Now if this is the case and I've taken my chip out and the spark nock is still there does that mean it's more than likely a spark plug issue or not? I checked my fuel pressure and that is fine so I know it's not that. So should I get a reflashon my chip indefinitely? Im kinda stuck and I was just wondering becasue it SUCKS not being able to drive my truck like I want to and babying it all around town. Any suggestions/comments would be GREATLY appreciated!
thanks in advance

Ronnie

#1 thing. Is the fuel octane up to par? Do you know for sure?

Also, describe *when* it's pinging. This would help.

BTW: Fuel flow (plugged filter) and fuel pressure are not the same thing. Got a good filter in it?

Just put a new fuel filter on and the sound that I'm hearing sounds like bb's in a can being shook around @WOT. I took it the universal ford and had one of my friends listen to it and he said it was a spark nock. Been using 93octane from exxon as well.

well you need to get that chip checked out immediately. Possibly you just need some colder plugs.

BTW: If you take the chip out of it, there is still a chance that it will knock since you have a 4lb pully, therefore making the a/f ratio's lean.

Hope this helps

I agree. Since it's happening at wot and you have a new FF.

Get that chip in to your tuner asap. Might wanna pull a plug and send it in too.

From: Colorado,
Add a bottle of Octane boost and see what happens.

I don't like using the stuff but it is cheaper than ruining your engine.

Even a built engine can't take that abuse. Don't even think you can just stay off the throttle or back off when you hear it. It is going on even when you don't know.

I would definitly ditch the gas you have and try a fresh tank from another source.

I had problems with a local station where I bought gas. First it was my daily ride started acting up. Then my other car. I started doing tune ups and then found out the gas station was sold and they were getting gas from a different supplier. The attendant said they had several complaints lately.

It happens.
