"It was like in 97, they thought they would be swift and put exhaust in front of tire. No one liked it and they moved it"

I didn't know that. My first pickup was a used '97 XLT(4.6l) and it has the side-exit exhaust. I still have it. I 'chipped' it, added a CAI, bigger th/body, and a Flowmaster c/back exhaust. What a fine truck!

I don't like the pics I've seen of the new body style Lightning.

They moved the exhaust exit in '98 because it was turning the RR wheel green on some trucks. Not because nobody liked it.

I still give a big to the new generation. Everyone has their tastes, and I'm loving the new one. I was very close many times to picking up a nice Gen2 Lightning, but boy, I hate the 97-03 body style. New one rocks

Anyhow, it's a new design. There's always the naysayers at the beginning, then they eventually come over. Mustang owners hating the 94-98 because it's ugly, then getting used to it, then hating the 99-04, then liking it, now hating the 05 (and personally, the 94-98 still looks like kaka )
