Is This A Good Deal ?

Hey guys, I just got a question about this. Today I stopped by a local audio shop that has built some insane systems for my friends, to get a price quote on a nice alarm system w/ remote start for the new truck. The guy in the shop said the best system they sell is this:

"Python 881XP
2way security and remote start alarm, w/ Responder technology.
Start your car and protect its contents w/ 2way security and remote start. Features include: 3auxilary outputs for additional remote control conviences like trunk pop, window roll up and more"

They said the system is $595 installed plus tax. They said the alarm and remote start will work thru walls and easily work up to 1/4mile away even from one side of the mall to the other side of it. And it tells you whats happening to the car, as well if its running and whatnot. I'm just wondering is this a good deal ?? Have any of you bought this system and had any problems with it ?? Is anyone close to L.I.N.Y. that offers a better deal ??

Thanks in advance

Josh

cheapest alarm ever....

for what its worth, that looks like a darn good deal. but ive got a 5dollar solution for you. my dad did this on his 99 superduty.

go to radio shack. buy cheap electrical wire. buy a small two way flip switch. run the wire from the power point on the fuel pump. run it up under the dash and have it attached to the two way switch. this way, you park your truck, reach under the dash and flip the switch. now the s.o.b. can steal your radio and such, but at least he cant get your truck. even if he shoves a screw driver in the starter soloniod, without fuel (remember that flipped switch?) your truck aint going far. just a small, cheap solution. and my .02cents

dayum! those be some dedicated theifs you got up there. but that system does look like a good deal, i would do it.

also a small note, if anyone else thinks about that little kill switch idea. DONT do it on a diesel. my dads 99 was that 7.3, and his kill switch was put to the test. he had it turned on, or off i guess you should say , but anyway, on a diesel, they wont just shut off if they dont have fuel. they will keep on sucking until the engine locks up. very expensive. and very sucky. and for me, very funny.

Yeah they crazy up here....if they want it....they gonna take it. No matter what you got on it. But the better the alarm the more chance of them skipping over you and goin to the next guy.

And man that must suck to blow a diesel motor.....but it was probably dam funny

I dont own one, and I was hopin to be able to pull off the 2#er and either sell it or use it for the winter. I hope I can get it off, but I just heard that I could be looking at having to have it cut off, which would make that impossible. I dunno I'm callin JDM in the AM and seein what they reccomend I do to get it off.
