Help please-Hiflo cats and now it wont shift

Today I put on my mid pipes with Hiflow cats. Before I changed them the truck ran great, No problems at all. Now after I changed them the truck feels like it starts off in 2nd or 3rd, While driving if I turn the OD off it doesn't even down shift. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It has to be something to do with the HUGO sensor it runs off the 02 sensor.

Thanks LatemodelRacer2, I really don't know what the HUGO sensor is. Does anyone have a suggestion if that is the problem?

welcome to the club. I went through the same thing right after I put on my magnaflow catbacks. first you've blown the mini fuse located in the fuse box located on the left rear corner under the hood the fuse is to the front center of the box seems like it was a 7.5 or 13 ck your manual. I presume your od light is flashing. If you are lucky this will fix the prob. if not start checking the wiring around the o2 sensors. Ford replaced all of mine and still didn't fix my prob. For some reason the wiring harness on top of my tranny shorted out but like you it all started with the install of the catback my o4 didn't even have 1k when this happened to me

The mini 15 fuse is blown. It is the fuse closest to the front of the truck under the hood. I will buy a new fuse tomorrow and i hope that is the only problem. Thank you guys for the help

you can do a site search on the topic using "ftvb problem or what?" that was the thread where everybody was trying to help me. lots of info. do you have the ck engine lite too? you probably have a lot of codes showing also so if the fuse fixes the prob you'll probabably want to get them cleared.

The others are absolutely correct. I had the same problem. Don't forget to look for what caused the short in the first place. Mine was the 02 sensor insullation burned and shorted in between the muffler and cats. I think it was the farthest one back. A little bend of the factory heat shield keeps it from hitting the exhaust pipe under hard acceleration now. Had to replace the 02 sensor, it was done under warranty.

Good luck.

I replaced the fuse, but under heavy exceleration it blows the fuse. If I drive like an old lady, it shifts fine and the OD works. I can turn it on and off, but as soon as I mash the peddle to the floor it blows the fuse.

Looks like you have an o2 sensor with bad insulation like mart man did. Check all wiring around the heat shields to see if they are burninated.

Green_98, there is a big sound difference. I dont know what it sounds like under hard exceleration, because the fuse keeps blowing then it goes right into 3rd gear.

I just climbed under the truck and didn't see any burnt or broken wires. But when I was removing anO2 sensor yesterday I guess I put a small dent in the side. Would this make it go bad? Thanks for all the help so far guys.
