1- 3/8 ratchet
2- 6" extentions
2- 3" extentions
1- 1/4 ratchet
2- 2" extentions
1- 4" extention
1- 7mm swivel socket
1- can of air to spray grime and grit out
Thanks Josh

I borrowed my mechanic's Snap-On stuff to change mine and it made life alot easier. Here are the part #'s I have:
7 mm swivel socket TMUSM7 $28.50 (can get one at Sears cheaper)
5-7/8" long 5/8" spark plug socket S9720KA $53.00
"Ball joint" universal (think it is actually a impact swivel) IPF800 $30.25

Several in here in changing plugs mention the "Snap On Spark Plug Socket". But I'm not sure why. I used a standard plug socket with no probem. Just make sure the rubber insert in the plug socket does hold the plug in place and when you take it off the plug, the insert doesn't come off with it on the plug. Do get the telescoping magnet as mentioned. You may need it to latch onto a couple of the coil pack bolts. Do get the 7mm 1/4 drive swivel socket. only used it on one plug - the third one back on the drvers side. I just could not get that coil pack bolt back on without it. The job is not as hard as it may first look - but the first time you do it, expect to spend 2.5-4 hours on it. This is not a good job to start on at 6pm when you've got a date with your girlfriend at 8pm. Unless you've got small thin fingers, the coil pack bolts are just hard to get at. You need some patience. Be careful putting the plugs back in - you can't see anything down there. I only loosened one item and moved it aside - the power steering pump resevoir. I also took off the injector plugs for a little more room.
Thanks for the info guys...I'm looking at doin it all as part of a mod day to get everything ready by the 24th. Probably next weekend. I dont have any of the needed swivels so I gotta make a run to the sears or something.

I have found something that makes it even easier to change the plugs, so Josh don't waste your time getting the snap on tool.
I have found that with a normal Craftsmans spark plug socket. You just add a one inch extension, then a swivel and then two 12 inch extensions to your 3/8 socket. The one inch extension makes it allmost the same as the expensive Snap On tool. I think it works even better than the snap on tool. By putting the one inch extension, the swivel is at the top of the hole to the plugs and you can into any hole perfect.
The rest of Chucks tools are right on, just replace his 3 inch extension with the one inch extension. Trust me it makes it a lot easier.
here is what I use

Chuck next time you do plugs try my setup and let me know what you think.

Thanks for the info Don. I'll try it out before taking the leap into the snap-on stuff. I'm still gonna have to go hit up the store though...lol

My tools are all Craftsman
By the way I drove your truck yesterday and it is one of those freek trucks that with just a 2# lower runs as strong as many I have driven with 4# or bigger pulleys.
12.60 with just a 2# lower, now imagine what it will do with a 6# pulley.

I am sure it will need a little more cleanup, judging from your posts. We just did a quick clean up job yesterday, as we had 2 other trucks to work on at the same time. I just threw a real quick wax job, on the hood and sides, never got the roof, tailgate or wheels. I left those for you, hehe.
I'll be sure to take care of all that.....if you guys make it down to the E-Town shootout, you'll get to see it again...
I cant wait to have a truck again....these past 2weeks have been killing me.
