Track results...improved ET by .55

Well I went back out to the track last night to see what my truck would run since I put my new mods on. Here's how it looked...

My first time at the track PERIOD:

Mods:
-Ported Eaton
-FTVB

Slip:
60' - 2.19
330' - 5.86
1/8 - 8.89@81.18
1/4 - 13.99@80.57 (let off early...ran a 99mph later that night)

My second time at the track:

Mods:
-4# lower
-JLP forced induction
-JLP tuned Predator
-Denso IT22s
-plus mods from above

Slip:
60' - 2.21
330' - 5.78
1/8 - 8.73@83.25
1/4 - 13.44@103.35

I'm still happy with the improvement but still feel that I should be in the 12's with the mods I have. Stock L's are running 13.4's
Maybe it's the track I go to because there was another 03 there that supposedly had a chip and exhaust that ran a couple low 14's. Anyone notice a big difference between tracks they go to?

Your 60ft is hurting your ET bad. You should be able to get a 1.9 something 60ft. The track must be pretty bad; time for some slicks.

Not only tracks, but choosing the correct lane may make a difference. The last time I was at the track, one lane was slippery and the other stuck decently.

YOU NEED MORE TIMING

RollinLimp2001 it is DEF your 60ft thats killing you.
They claim every 1/10th off the 60 CAN net you as much
as 2/10th's on the other end. Get that 60ft to a 1.9 on street tires, and a 1.6 - 1.78 on slicks, and you'll pick up another .55

CONGRATS and don't worry, plenty more Et to be had just the way you are, Def 12's with a good hook up.

your 60 ft times look like your racing a bicycle!!!!

Power is there.....just gotta hook. You manage a 1.95 60 and you'll run a 12.873 ......that's my prediction!!!

Well thanks guys. I knew my 60' was holding me back, but I may have to go to a different track if I still want to run on the F1's. I was watching the 60' of other vehicles that night and not many dipped below 2.0 I may have been able to push it a little bit more off the line since I didn't feel any traction loss on the two runs I was able to get off Friday night. I guess I just need more practice.
Another question...Will a 60' also affect your MPH?

I feel your pain!!!! My first time at the track I ran a 12.59 with my mods. My 60FT was a ridiculous 2.35. Nice. I had a ton of fun and KNOW that it was ME not the truck for the bad 1/4 mile times.

And yes, the MPH will be affected by your 60ft times. Good luck, and congrats on the good ET!

Seat time in your vehicle may help as much as your mods.I was able to cut almost 1/2 sec. just learning to launch. How are you launching "rpm etc." ? if you didn't feel it spin you got more to hammer. PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE.

GOOD LUCK it'll come down

Thanks for the encouragement. I've been launching directly off idle on all my runs except for one. I raised the RPM to about 1000. I got alittle bit better 60', but like you said I think I could have pushed it alittle more since I felt no wheelspin.
Looking back at my slips I noticed that a WRX that I raced only got a 60' of 2.06...so even with all-wheel drive sub 2.0s on this track are not the norm.

With every vehicle having it's own sweet spot, seat time is important, since you got a little better going up to 1,00 rpm try a little more, " I wouldn't go above 1,500 ".
without traction lost "yet" come off your launch rpm and stab it hard , see if it still hooks, if so up the rpm a hair. if it spins try lowering tire pressure a couple #s. check with others about how low to go w/F-1s I can't remember.
just keep hunting for your trucks sweet spot before you get more mods.

Ya I lowered the tire pressure this time to about 25 psi like others mentioned to do on the F1's. Only thing is that I don't think I changed my launch enough to take advantage of the traction...I was still rolling into the throttle gradually almost till I hit second gear. But I will try and get more practice to see what I can do...thanks
