Need some more Predator info.
Need some more Predator info.
I am considering a predator, but want to know if multiple trucks can be tuned or diagnosed using the predator. Any info would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
Mutiple trucks tuned: NO
The Predator "marries" the first truck that you put a tune on. It downloads the factory tune, holds it, and wont let you tune another truck until the factory tune is back on the original truck, and out of the Predators memory.
Multiple trucks diagnosed: YES
This feature is not dependent on having a diablo tuned ECU or not so you can diagnose any vehicle as long as it fits in the same category of vehicle as yours (i.e. ford car or ford truck)

I would think as long as the vehicles have the same series of OBD then it should read trouble codes and some of the same engine parameters. Of course the connector and pinouts may be different from Ford vehicle to vehicle...which is why I say Ford car OR truck...not AND. Otherwise why would they have made a Cobra version then a Lightning/Harley version of the Predator?
Wish I still had my Mustang so I could check on that for you. I know they have the same style connector but not sure if they are the same size or have the same pinouts as our trucks. Regardless, it's still a decent tool to look at what your ECU sees. Just my thoughts and opinion
