Not getting enough fuel

This morning on my way to work I went to change lanes and hit the throttle to about 3/4 and just as the SC started to whine it almost died. I barely had enough power to pull off the road. At idle it seemed fine and even revved ok. I started driving again it was fine as long as there was no boost. As soon as the guage went above 0 it would start to die again.
I figured it was a hose that had come loose but didn't find any. On my way back home it would barely run at all and the AF gauge was reading very lean. I thought it may be the fuel filter and changed it with no luck.
How do I check the fuel pressure? Is it common for fuel pumps to go on these?

any advise would be appreciated,

Jim

There has been posts of peoples fuel pump clamps coming off in the tank, causing what you describe. I think the problem was on 99 and 00 models. Might want to check that first. Good luck!
