chevy put cowls on thier 60's muscle cars and that who originated from.

Now everyone puts cowls on thier vehicles.
(I'd never put one on my '69 or '70 mustang, they actually have hood scoops to allow air into the air cleaner.)
Cowls suck the hot air out of the engine compartment.
Scoops let it in.

It looks nice, but it is still a chevy thing
