For awhile now Ive had this noise in the engine or blower but as of latley its gotten worse...

The best way to describe the noise is that is sounds like loose dirt or a loose chain. I only time I hear it is when Im on the highway cruising and just step into the boost a little bit. Its not there when Im not in the boost, just when I step into or punch it.

Ive talked to a couple of people(no L guys) who said it could be my timing chain? Talked with Jim@ JDM today who said he would have to hear it to be able to tell. He asked if it was making a pinging noise, but never heard it before so I couldnt tell. So he has me worried now, and wanted to know what all you guys thought!? Thanks fellas!

 

I've never heard the loose dirt, but...You're sure it doesn't sound like marbles shaking in a can or stepping on leaves right? It only does it at highway speeds at when you hit it, what about if you're at a stop and get into it at lower speeds??

I wouldnt exactly say describe either on of those things, but could be. The only time I can physically hear it is at the highway speeds, but its not to say its not there from a stop, its just that the engines not as loud on the highway, so its easier to hear.

Sounds good, I might send my brother back up with my truck since I work during the day and hes off next week. Id appreciate that. I might wanna set something up to throw it on the dyno then too. Would next week be okay to get it dyno'd?
