thinking about buying an L

This particular truck has 10,000 miles on it (its a 2001) and the guy went to the track alot. Should I stay away from a truck like this or does it not matter? If you need any more info, let me know.

Thanks.

This is me personally...but I would never buy a sports car (or a Lightning) used.

Their entire reason for being, what they were designed for, is to be driven fast and hard...

If I were ever to purchase a used vehicle, I'd want one that was pamperd, driven easy, not abused......which is how sports car owners tend not to behave.

You already know it's been to the track often....

For me, I'd pass. I'd only buy a new L (which I've done twice).

I'm sure you'll hear lots of different opinions...this is mine.

Good luck whatever you decide to do.

This is just an opinion, so skip the flames. I would search out the rare, "pristine" truck over the easy to find, beat down, "went to the track alot" truck. Performance vehicles are like women, who wants a reamed out one.

that's what my gut was telling me. . . I just want to be able to see and drive it before I buy it. So I basicly need to wait until I find one in the Northeast. I can't take the time nor money to fly someplace to look at the truck. It's just much easier to find them if you're not bound geographicly.

first of all, there is nothing wrong with buying a used lightning. i bought my 2000 a year and a half ago and never had a problem. saved a bunch of money too. It all depends on the person that you buy it from. if you know that he has abused it by taking it to the track all the time then i would say no, to this one. But i found my used one from some 65 year old guy that babied the thing. 7000 miles and never even saw rain. go with your gut feeling and you wont f#$% up. -J
