My New Best in the 1/8th

Well over the past month I have been getting a little slower. I was running high 8.2's, but lately only been managing low 8.3's. I added a line lock and traction bars, and haven't improved my 60' times at all. I'm using Drag Radials, and can't get better than a 1.9 60'. before the traction bars I had a few high 1.8's.

Well yesterday before heading to a local 1/8th mile track I decided to put my truck on a diet since I'm about a 100lbs overweight. I pulled out everything I could (Tonneau Cover, Bed Rug, Stereo System, Passenger Seat, Tail Gate, and Front Sway Bar) already had the hitch and spare off for a some time now.

Last night after all the weight reduction I managed a 8.16@86.82 with a 1.906 60' . I guess if I can ever figure out how to launch this truck I might see some 8.0's with my current mods and at my race weight.

Congrats Sharpshooter on your new best; 8.16@86.82 with a 1.906 60'

Our mods are almost the same except for your FTVB vs. my 2.80 upper. My cur best is 8.10 @86.89 wth a 1.8 60'.
You cut a 1.8 and your in the 8.0 range.

How much boost are you seeing?

Good #'s!!

I still have the stock boost gauge, so I'm not sure how much boost I'm running.

yea nice times, your trap speeds are about the same as mine, however i cant launch worth a dang, i need slicks, the best 60' i have had was a 2.033 i only have the f1s. you think it's hard to launch now, try doing it with a stall converter, it's down right frustrating.

P.S. how do youlike thoes DR's?

i need to edit my sig

8.41 @87

Get that 60' down to 1.7s and you might see high 7s.

I dont think its possible to get a 1.7 on these local tracks without slicks. The track is so slick that I have to let off the gas sometimes shifting into 2nd, because the truck starts to go sideways.

Tell me your secret for a 1.7, Id love to have that with Drag Radials.

My secret? It was right after an event, the track still had alot of VHT, and the Nittos where brand new. At that time I was running a 6# lower. Now im running a 8# lower and did a mild port job on the Eaton. Went to "try" to race 2 weeks ago and ran twice 2.60 and 2.40 60s, the track sucked. I wont be going back until I get some slicks!!!!
