6#'s what plugs are you using?

I'm about to do my plugs this weekend and just want to get an Idea what plugs some of you are using. I have a 6# pully and currently run ngk tr5's. My friend suggested i run tr6's. What would you guys recommend?

I run a 6# , and use NGK TR6 .38 gap. Same plugs in truck 2 years, and 400 runs at track.

I'm running the BR7ef's on Sal's recommendation,
and haven't had another toasted plug since changing
from the TR-6's

The IT22's are a bit dear imo, as often as I change them.

probie, you got some big ***** running TR-5's w 6lbs
THATS OUT RIGHT DANGEROUS

5's are stock Heat range
TR-6's are only one zone colder (IMO you need two)

As said some get away with TR-6's, BUT OTHERS DON'T
But even for running 4lbs, I would recommend Denso IT-22's.
I run them on 4lbs and they give me much safety and room for error in my tune. I run them for 6lbs too, and with or without
Nitrous.
In all cases they work flawless from idle to well over 6000 RPM,
I have mine gapped at .038 - .040

As for gapping,
ND4SPD you CAN NOT gap them the regular way
You MUST use this type of feeler guage

Then use the special ends of the guage to pull up on the Tip,
NOT WEDGE SOMETHING UNDER IT like you normally do.
SOB took me a good 1/2 hour to 45 minutes just to gap mine

NGK TR6's are a step colder than stock. I would definitely take the TR5's out....as you are playing dangerously with a 6# lower. The IT22's are two steps colder (DENSO claims it is 1 step colder) and are ideal as they give you "room for error" but be careful gapping them! Some will NOT reommend any Iridium plugs because of the danger of the porcelain breaking.

I've been running my set up for a couple years now without any problems and have made a ton of passes, but i hear where you're coming from. I'm switching to the tr6's and plan on going with the bottle in search of that elusive 11 second pass.

That right there is the key....

I Changed my plugs every 5-7k miles. I also was running 3 days a weak and 10 passes a day most of the time.

The NGK's are a SWEET plug as are the Denso's. Denso's are more for your daily driver style truck and NGK's are more for the race and lightly driven trucks. Denos's clear up alot of IDLE stuff. But if you look at the big dog's all around racing most use NGK's, (especially with power adders...)

hmmm

I run the tr6 and gap mine .040
Ditto that.

Denso's are a waste imo. Seen just as many problems with them as any other plug on this board. I've been running the tr6 on a 4lb for almost 2 years now and have had no problem. The last year was on a custom dyno tune from Jim so my a/f were good.

It's all a matter a preference. No matter what you use, if your tune is off ........c-ya. Some say the idle quality is better on the denso's........there are many that dispute that as well.

All I know is Probie's truck screws with just a 6lb lower, chip and filter!!!!
