Time for some more power !!!

here is what I plan on doing this weekend

change plugs
160' thermo
clean intercooler
adjust boost actuator
new SC gaskets and check everything is installed good and tight

well if I do all that and I dont magicly get an extra 10+ hp... then Im gonna be very disapointed... i cant belive iv dont all this work, and still not even in the 400hp club.....

anyway, i have a wish list of things to still do.... may have to bump some things up and do sooner than planned

this is kinda what i was thinking of still doing.... what are your thoughts as to which are most important when compared to my current mods

1. Efan/pump
2. Long Tubes (expensive)
3. exhaust (currently have Flowmaster) and install high flow cats I have in garage
4. plentum spacer
5. tb spacer

thats really about all i wanted to do, unless you guys have any other ideas... i live in Texas... so maybe something to help cool her down more too????

i was also thinking, since im only pushing 11-12 boost right now, maybe I could go to a 6lb lower or a new upper... any thoughts??? i like being on the safe side, since it is a daily driver...

Throw your exhuast out and get some long tubes with high flows and a bassani cat back.

then do your efan and pump

and who cares about the spacers, not worth it.

Just do a 6lb lower for now until you get some more cooling mods, then you can get an upper if you feel the need for it.

dude I've had mine for so long now I couldn't even tell you who's got the cheapest prices now. I got the stainless steel kooks and I love them with the bassani, the truck screams with the blower and sounds awesome with the exhaust.

Personally I think getting your blower ported was a complete waste of time without having a full exhaust on your truck. The only reason to get a blower ported is when you can't spin it much faster without heating her up and causing a negative effect on the power. And not to be mean but the flowmasters on lightnings are junk so ***** can them. Your going to pick up some crazy power with long tubes and bassani cat back so get ready for it.

well i bought the truck used... crapmasters were already on there...

so honestly speaking... lets be on the conservative side here.... what do you guys really think I could gain by switching to bassani mufflers, long tubes, high flow cats (all 4 stockers gone) and efan/pump....

I think if you do the above changes this weekend and let it cool down good you have the magical 10 hp.

There are so many things that can throw it off, temp, humidity, tire pressure so if you are off by only 10 it could be something out of your control like temp or humidity.

bassani cat back somes with an X pipe and its not like you have to have them but they help equalize the exhuast.

I SERIOUSLY doubt that you would see anywhere NEAR 40hp gain at your boost level with LT's. 20HP, maybe. If you're pushing 16-20psi with a KB, then maybe more.

LT's seem to me a great mod once you've used up all the other cheaper mods like e-fan, ported blower, etc.

There have been several guys on here posting 25-30HP gains with the ported Eaton and no LT's.

yeah but 40 hp over his current exhaust is possible. I'm pretty sure his flomasters don't flow as well as the stock exhaust.

I wasnt gonna say a number because i just don't know how bad the flomasters are, im sure they aren't as good as stock but i dunno just how bad. But 40 seems possible. 30 rwhp when all is said and done.

called a local shop around here... he said $1800 for bassani cat back and bassani headers and install... does that seem good?

also, how do the bassani headers compare to the kooks or someone elses long tubes??

A big no on the Bassini headers.......

Go with JDM or LFP long tubes.

Flowmasters, more like Chokemasters for the L's, they are a mustang thing.....

Listen to the Killa, I always have, he has done it all...

I think a 40 hp increase is possible with, new full exhaust system, E-fan and Cobra R water pump, and the 6lb lower pulley.

I would just be interested in the gains from taking off you chokemaster and putting on a decent exhaust system.
