Lightning vs Mustang GT

Looked on the net for performance specs for the Mustang GT, but couldn't find much. How would a new stock Mustang GT do against a new stock Lightning in the quarter mile? Thanks for the info!

If the GT was a auto then it would be killed by at least 3-4 cars, but if it was a stick, I would say 1-2 cars. I raced my buddys 5 speed GT and killed him but on top end he would give me a run for my money.

Not a GT, but the Mach 1s with the NA Cobra motor would definitely give a stock L a good even run. Maybe even a little quicker......................

On my first outting with the Lightning I got to run a bone stock Bullit. Only mod I had at the time was a K&N w/holes in the box.

It was hot and very humid that day. Track was crappy.....he went a 14.5 to my 14.1. That was a sweet race! He pulled me by about 1/2 a car off the line and stuck 2nd very good with a nice bark. But then I just pulled him the rest of the way taking him by about 4-5 car lengths on the big end.

BoneStock Lightning Vs. BoneStock GT (Auto or Stick), L wins everytime.....the difference between the to just depends on the drivers.

An L will beat a GT easily. Hence why I traded up.

Best I ever ran in my GT was a 13.99 (with some bolt ons). Traction is the problem with Mustangs (even worse than L's).

Ive raced a lot of GT's since I got my L... beat them pretty easily when stock, now with some minor mods its pretty ugly.

I've had 3 GT's since 2000. Just bought a brand new 2004 convertible for the wife. The L would spank every one of them. The 2003 even had Flowmasters and the K&N FIPK installed, my L still walked it.
