I can't believe people are arguing eaton v csc.... are you kidding? No comparison. A twin screw v csc... there's a comparison. I think the csc still wins, but thats almost more of an opinion then a fact.

Forgot to say why I like a CSC over a twin screw. Transmission stress. A CSC makes less lowend torque and more high rpm torque. This is easier on the transmission.

For all this money I would rather have a turbo setup. I think you could do that easy for 4-5k and that would include a nice big Front mounted Intercooler.

aren't guys at like 650rwhp with the works and kenne bells? and even running 10's with the eaton? how much more power do you guys want? sure more power is always better for race only vehicles but honestly what are you going to do with 750+hp on a street truck? that starts to get dangerous on the street dont you think. I don't think ATI will sell enough to make a profit. so anyone who does this will be a totally custom job and will cost $$$ and will probably hack up the truck doing it. I think the 500 rwhp achievable with the eaton or what ever it is is fine for me and is more than I'll ever need for hauling plywood at triple digits.

Gotta love all the choices a "Limited" Production Pick-up has .

VINNIE

BTW- Tim, I heard that guy in the MM&FF article took it off his cobra and sold it because he was not happy with the E.Ts.

Again , its what I heard.

To say the Lightning world is going to be shocked is somewhat true but also false. 1st of all the HP/TQ line of a Centrifigal is a mountain unlike the flatness of a roots/twinscrew. The Centrifugal is a all out 1/4 mile warrior and wont even be competitive with a roots/twinscrew. Also you run into the problem that you arent going to spin a 5.4 to 6000-7000 RPM that is needed to make the boost that a novi/ procharger peaks at.

The day a T76 is put on a Lightning is the day I will be shocked by results and streetability.

I don't think anyone is arguing eaton vs cent, I asked why at the same boost level (same airflow) the cent would give 118 more rwhp.

As far as I know boost is dependant upon the speed the supercharger is spun(also other little things like the heads and exhaust and cams and stuff.) But, the more the blower is spun the more air it moves.

How much boost does my truck make if I spin my novi 2000 58K rpms at 5500rpms?

9" crank pulley
3" supercharger pulley
3.54:1 step up ratio
9"/3" = 3
3 x 3.54 =10.62
10.62 x 5500 = 58410 blower rpms
:santa:

Centrifugals aren't "streetable?" I have personally driven or ridden in a ProCharged Surburban people/boat/trailer hauler, a 500+ rwHP LT-1 Camaro, and was present at the testing of three ProCharged vehicles that had as much as 80% power gain without any other changes whatsoever to a stock engine except for a centrifugal. They all purred like kittens -- no more or less streetable than our trucks.

"Can't spin the engine fast enough?" Nonsense. The supercharger doesn't care how fast the engine is turning -- it only cares how fast it is turning. You can spin a centrifugal to 60,000 RPMs with an engine that redlines at 2,000 RPMs. Take that same "novi/procharger" that is happy at 6-7,000 rpms, change the pullies, and voila! It makes the same boost and airflow at 5,200 on a 5.4. If an engine does not spin fast enough for a centrifugal, then it also does not spin fast enough for a roots.
