Headlight switch removal

Today i tried to remove my headlight switch to access the dimmer for the new guages. I tried to follow my Haynes manual, but still don't understand what is supposed to happen. I also managed to break on of the tabs that hold on my selector ****. Can someone please tell me how to remove this switch in plain english? If so... i'd sure appreciate your help!

you pull out the entire headlight switch and dimmer switch assembly. The way I did it was to remove the lower console (I'm guessing you've already done this if you're installing gauges), then reach up from the bottom and you'll feel the back of it, just push it out...its a pain in the a$$, but you'll get it. It's only held in with 3 pressure clips, on on each side and one on top. Dont fell bad, I screwed my up a little doing that too...

Hope that helps...

I popped mine out for my gauge. There is a tab at the bottom center and on the right hand side about 2/3's of the way up from the bottom. A super thin screwdriver works fine and won't mess your trim up.

Cool

Instead of tieing into the headlight switch for the dimmer, you can tie into the little light that is in the cupholder. It adjusts with the dimmer as well and it is very easy to get a wire to.

all you need to do is find where the brake control for a trailer and hook into the brown wire it is found behind the right knee behind the lower dash.. and if you are trying to get the head light switch out take a small flat head screw driver and a rag and cover the end of the driver with a rag and slide it into the slot on the switch and pry down on the end of the driver and it will pop out
