Water Spots on Glass
Water Spots on Glass
My rear window is covered with water spots... how do you get them off? I used the same stuff I used on my windshield, but they just won't leave...
How do you do it?
How do you do it?
Vinegar!
Guapo:
Wash the glass with straight vinegar. Those spots will be toast. Be careful about getting the vinegar on metallic parts, as it is nothing but diluted acetic ACID, and corrosive as a motha.
Also, washing with dishwashing liquid in hot water, followed by a thorough towel-down, followed by washing with distilled water, followed by a thorough towel-down (this is, incidentally, the ultimate routine for glass) will get it pretty good also.
But for REALLY bad-azz spotting, vinegar is the answer.

Use some ceramic glass cleaner. Its stuff you use for the glass top stoves. Sears sales a brand called Cook Top. You put it on the window like you would wax your truck, you work it into the glass and then let it dry to a haze. Simple buff off, like wax and your window will look like factory new.
On my last truck I had some real bad water spots on the front windshield and used the Cook Top, took me about 15 minutes to do the entire window, putting it on, and buffing it off. The Cook Top, or and ceramic glass cleaner will NOT hurt the glass in any way however do NOT use it on the inside windows IF they have TINT, it will destroy the tint.

Silver-Y2K-SVT,
That was recommended to me before with my front windshield. Some people say it works great, however in my case it barely took any spots off, it did some, but barely. The ceramic glass cleaner is extremely easy to use, easy on and off and you don’t smell bad after…

Got my slider and passenger side glass replaced.
What happens is the sun will bake the tint and make it appear like there's spots........bot the glass is fine.
I had an irrigation system put in for my lawn, and the ground water was loaded with iron. Ruined my sister's focus. Had it wet sanded and bugged and still the spots are there. Thank god i caught on to what was happening so i could move my truck when the sprinklers came on. She just didn't care. You know women

Zaino Glass Cleaner works for me.
Claying did nothing, vinegar did very little, razor took some off but the Zaino and Cook Top did absolutely excellent, took every single spot off and only took 15 minutes to do the front windshield and that is allowing time for it to haze.
The reason I suggested the Cook Top over Zaino is unless your buying Zaino products and add the Z12 to the order it would cost a lot more money then just going down to Sears and buying the Cook Top, especially since they both work the same…

Windex and crumpled up black and white newspaper.
Something about the ink and all the little straight edges that form.
Works great on bathroom mirrors.
No streaks go with vinegar and water to.
