Mr. Clean car wash
Mr. Clean car wash
I tried it and I'm impressed, tho' maybe I am easily. I washed and rinsed with this cheap, gaudy, plastic 44 magnum of a nozzle, the soap and filtered water, but I have to admit-it really left no spots. It was dry and ready for some Cherry Wet. No wiping. Amazing how Mr. Clean is the one that has the no-spot wash that really works. Will my paint peel in a year now?
sorta
I work a LOT. And I also work a LOT. I have been working about 64 to 80 hrs a week since last August. Money is nice but it does get old. Tell Jesse I asked about Chubs-and Joe is STILL alive and kickin'-13 years old. I guess there's a couple reasons organized groups of L owners weren't for me but that doesn't take away from the fact that most of the individual people are OK. I'm sure YOU know what I mean.
And I haven't added anything to my L since the traction bars and FT accumulator. I haven't raced it in a year and probably won't. I think I'd rather get a new Gen Mustang than pay for a new engine for the L..
Yea, I'm still here, just a lot more quiet.

I would beware of this stuff. Sounds like the same type stuff they use to advertise on TV under another name in the late 90s. It strips the wax off and leaves your paint surface rough. It made a mess of my old Ford Explorer when I tried it back then. Managed to get the body finish back with a lot of work but it ruined the paint in the door jambs, back hatch, etc. I've been reading about this Mr. Clean stuff over on the Moparts forum and they are reporting the same problems with it. Water beads are good - not bad.
I don't know about "Mr Clean", but I DO know a thing or two about washing cars (I install car washes). What prompts me to write is the last sentence of the last post about water beading up. If Mr Clean makes the water NOT bead up, stay away from it.
You are doing something bad for it to do that. In an automatic wash, if you get 'spot free' rinse you SHOULD get R.O. water which is reverse osmosis water. It is almost distilled water.
What makes water spots on a car are the impuities in the water beads when they dry out. No impurities, no spots. Of course, one can get impurities AFTER the water is applied from air contamination.
If you use a chemical (like CHEAP touchless washes{acid}) that takes away the finish's natural ability to bead water, you have done a bad thing.

Water spots = bad.
Water beading = good.
I feel like breakin those dammn sprinklers on my street. Worst spottin ive seen. Takes a little extra effort to remove.
