I cant say what they will do now, all i can say is that I got 2 Nitto 555r's for 520 shipped. I cant say if that is good or not, bu that's what I paid. I thought that was a good deal, i probably was wrong, but ive been wrong before.

slammed svt, thats the final charged to my card, but im in cali (same state as the company, so i was charged tax)...so if youre not in cali, it could be cheaper?!?

Just to let you know they have raised the prices. They told me around $259 + Shipping.

I went to discount and got them for $1018 out the door. Much better price, plus free rotating and balancing for life (although I understand with the 555r's that isn't long )

Can anyone tell me how much more or less sticky the 555 are. I'm tempted to get them because I don't want to buy another $1000 worth of tires in 8,000 miles.

That is a good deal. The only problem (for me) is by the time I get four of them I'll be sitting at $960 then each tire is $18 to have it mounted and balanced... so in the end it looks like i"m getting the best deal that I can....

I just need to determine if I want the 555R or 555...

AVOID THE WATER BOX!

water is "trapped" in the traction crevices and can cause you to lose traction when you launch off the line!

I had to heat the cr@p out of my nitto's to get them to stick.

If you drive through the water I Guarantee that you will spin off the line.

It will take a few burnouts for the nitto rubber to "cure" and then you will have your best launches. Don't be disappointed the first few launches, odds are you'll spin off the line. Just remember yo have to heat them up a few times before they are "track" ready

I just replaced the rear DR's with a new set from Discount. Out the door, $417.88 installed. I also have the NT555's on the front. Its true what they are saying about the water box, stay out! Last weekend I made several passes and my runs were faster when they were properly heated. First 4 passes I spun 2 times, after that my 60 was down. You can test launch at the pre-line to check them, but if not much compound is on the track its hard to launch when they get cold. I'm getting about 6k out of a set of DR's. But I race when ever I can. The street tears them up alot more then the track. But it leaves the nicest marks Shop around, Discount will price match, at least here they will!!

We dont have a discount around here. I wish we did. I can only get them off of the net from discount but they seem like the cheapest place.

Dam I paid $620 for mines, but it was about a year ago. I removed the sway bar and it leaned back alot, or maybe cause I lowered the front by cutting the springs. Cutting the springs makes them softer. I was reading the MM&FF magazine and they recomend softer springs for better launches.
