Which Optima & mount?

Hi all.

I was wondering if anyone has tried to put a Group 31 yellow top in thier L? Will it even fit?

I would also like to know which mount for the Group 34 yellow top everyone is using. I like the billit one from Summit Racing, but I don't know if you have to drill new holes for it.

Your responses are appreciated.

Thanks

I just got a yellow top (not sure of model) and there are
no problems ... it just fit right where the stock one was.

The Bling can wait ... But you DO need the "Type 65" Ford
battery clips for the Optima to fit under the hold down.

Thanks for the response.

I still might be interested with the Bling if I don't have to drill a bunch of holes.

You don't need any mounts, just screw it to the base...
Some people buy hundred dollar bling mounts, but its not needed

I bought the 34 yellow top. Fires off quick, but havent tested the load with the efan yet. I went with the eddie marine box, very sweet piece. Looks killer.

Thanks for the help.

I did a search but I just wanted the opinions of others here that are using one, and which ones work without drilling new holes.

The previous post would be more helpful if the names of the companies the mounts came from were listed.

Vinnie: You just made me lower the brightness on my screen. It looks awesome.
Is that the mount from Summit or Eddie Marine?

BTW Whip; Did you have to drill new holes for the Eddie Marine mount?

Thanks

For just about all the mounts you only need to drill the holes in the Ford plastic tray, you bolt the new mount to that and bolt that back to the truck.

I got mine from Bullet Billet.

Just curious, is the yellow top any lighter than the stock battery?

Red tops are 39 and 40 pounds, yellow tops are 43 pounds. Not sure what the stock one is, I am thinking around 42 pounds, anyone know for sure?

I checked on mine last night ... it's the 34 series ...

Bolts down with the FORD stay downs ... no mods ...
