got OBDII codes?

I was getting the good old Service Engine light today.
A friend found lean bank 1&2 on a diagnostic, and cleared the code.
The light came back later, and I checked with my Predator and found only P1000 OBD Systems Readiness Test Not Complete.

Anybody know what P1000 really means in english, or why I can't get the same codes w/ the Predator as a real diagnostic?

Any/all info is appreciated.

p.s. there's a lot of stupid sht going on around here. hopefully somebody still wants to talk shop!

thanks,
Aaron

PO1000 basically means that the OBD-II cycle has not been completed. This code is stored until the cycle is completed when your pcm is reset. It's normal.

as to why you cannot get codes with your pred is weird. I have got codes off my trk that i couldn't get with a reg scanner. for instance i scanned my trk one day with the pred and (i had no light was doing this for fun) i got a overboost condition code through the pred yet nothing through a reg scanner. Guess they think an 8lb lower/1lb upper combo is overboost

Yeah, I've checked before w/ the scanner, and had that code w/ only a 4#er.

As far as my truck today, a friend suggested changing the PVC, so I picked one up at the parts store, popped it in, cleared the codes w/ the Predator (engine light went off), and on the drive home, the truck shut down and the light came on. I just shifted to N, restarted, and the light went off. Drove home with no light. Parked, shut the truck off, turned it back on and here's the light again.

I'm kind of bummed that the Predator doesn't seem to be giving me much info. (I thought it would/should work out great during times like these!)

thanks for the response!

yeah Jon, it was shut off while cruising at about 40. I shifted into N, restarted, and kept going. (The light did not come on after restarting). I've been driving around all morning and checking the trouble codes, but I don't think that the Predator is picking up the lean fuel. (It didn't even pick it up when I got home last night with the light still on)

Any ideas? (I changed the PVC)

I tried calling-no answer. I'll try back shortly.

thanks, Aaron
