what the hell did I do...

Last night I finally had some time to myself so I decided to hook up my autometer boost and volt gauges well anyway, the L already had nos swithes so I just used the 12v that was used fotr the switch (taking nos off) and used it for my volt meter guage. Well I also wanted to hook up some little blue lights to jazz up the interior. So I spliced into the 12V that I used for the volt meter and I got the lights on but didn't really like em that much so as I was taking light wires off the 12v wire I touched some metal and now the ABS light is on, no blinkers, no power mirror and no temp with compass. Is there a fuse that anyone knows off hand that I need to look at, I just noticed this stuff like 30 min ago on my way back to work. Also the 12v wire was coming from a fuse box on the driver side right next to the left fender, it was spliced into a 4 way type thing, are those all for 12v. I'll post a pic tonight when I get home of exactly where it was.
ALSO I don't see how I could hook up the boost gauge wrong but it only showed up to 9-10 psi and my stock one pegs out all the way. I do have a 6lb lower so what the hell did I do. I used some of the black vacum line stuff that you can get any auto store and spliced that into the clear one off the gauge all the way to the T fitting where I used a little piece of the clear hose to attach the black hose and the T fitting, could the difference in the diameter of the hosed affect the reading.

sorry for the long post, I just hate when I try to do something and doesn't go right... Thanks for any help!!!

Size doesn't matter unless it was really small hose.
Then it would just make your gauge respond slower.

You should be ok.

I have no idea what to tell you on the electrical? 3 hail Mary's and 3 Our Fathers for now.

You have a blown fuse, I don`t know if it a fuse in the cab or under the hood though, the reason I know its a fuse is because I did the same thing you did, hooking something up and a hot wire touched a ground, I took my truck to the dealer and they found the fuse, thats why I don`t witch one it is. so find the bad fuse, replace it and everything will be back to normal.

hey speeder did you get an ABS light. Maybe the gauge is jacked up or something I mean 9-10 psi w/ 6lb lower no way, the stock one was pegged all the way past 10 as it alwasy does when I wot it.

Yea, ABS light, no turn signals, and over head consol was dead also, like I said, it was just a blown fuse, after it was replaced everything was normal again. with a 6lb lower you should deffinatly be seeing more than 9-10 psi, it sounds like you might possibly have a bad gauge .

Well I omhed all my fuses and found the bad one, everything is working except my power mirros, anyone know where the fuse is for that. I still don't understand the boost thing I wot it three times on the way home from work and it sat at about 10.

forget what every the "stock" boost gauge read. You are correct that you should see more boost with the 6 lber.
My first thought is a slipping blower belt. Look for belt residue around the tensioner. Hope you find the problem

problems

disconnect the battery when playing with wiring

man, you don't want something like the airbag deploying on you happening, trust me, i know someone that happened to. Hit them in the side of the head when they weren't expecting in from the passanger side and broke their neck and blew out their airdrum!!! Be carefull!!!

Secondly do you have the electrical boost or mechanical boost?

The electrical boost requires the a somewhat precise mount of the little box thing-a-ma-jig. If you have the electrical, talk to Don's Bolt. I know Don has one and I remember him mounting it somewhere under the dash but it has to be a certain way.

If you have a mechanical one (like I do). It is very important to make sure all your vaccum lines are snug as can be. Instead of t'ing off and having your stock and aftermarket, Cut a piece of the supplied line and make sure IT DOES NOT KINK!!!!. Go to autozone and get the correct size boot for the barb and the hose and connect it directly to the stock tube and disable your stock guage, you don't need it and it's only gonna end up breaking anyhow with a 6lber (yeah yeah, some one you haven't had problems, i know). If you try to micky mousie it with larger pieces of tubing, you will see less boost unless you make a long pass at wot it will eventually come up. My mechanical guage is pretty dam accurate. I have the autometer guage with the vac/boost set up and it's almost.....if not totally dead on. Good luck!!

It just has the vac line and the power and ground wire for the lights, that would make it a mechanical right. I'm going to play with it a little this weekend and see what I can find.
