Will the Diablo TUning work for this combo?

Hi guys,
I hope you don't mind a Corvette guy asking a few Lightning questions. A good friend of mine has a '99 Lightning and wants me to do some mods for him. He currently has:

Bassani Exhaust
160* Thermostat

He was running a cold-air kit (I'm not sure of the brand) and he said the truck would barely run with it. We've been told that the truck was leaning out with that combo and the stock tuning. He bought a Diablo Sport tuner, and a 4# Upper Pulley. He wants me to install the pulley for him, and re-install the cold-air setup. I'm sure the stock tuning won't support those mods, and we are planning on having Bob Moss at Dragon's Breath Performance (https://home.comcast.net/~dragonbreathe/) do a dyno tune, but I was wondering if the Performance program that is already in the Diablo Sport will support those mods. I know the tune on the dyno will be better, but in case we have to wait a couple of weeks to get an appointment at Dragon's Breath, I want to make sure the truck will run okay.

Does anyone have any experience with the Diablo Sport and a similar setup?

TIA,

Adam

Hey! Glad you asked because most people on here including the supporting venders think the predator's stock tunes are very dangerous and dont recommend them at all.

I have a predator and sal@psp sent me a custom tune for it and its been flawless

The 99-00 Lightnings came with an 80mm MAF. A common upgrade is to swap on a CAI and the 90mm MAF from the later years. If that's what he did, he will probably need a tune. Add in the 4# pulley, and you've got a great potential for disaster with the stock tune. If it's just a CAI, then he's got other problems, because a CAI is a very minor upgrade.

I don't think the tunes that come with the Predator are conservative enough to cover all the variables. Given the background you've described, I would drive it straight to the dyno after modding, and wouldn't WOT on the way.
