Talking Bradenton proved one thing.............

a stall converter is in my near future.

Bradenton was kick a$$ - met a great group of people, fellow f150online brothers, two of our vendors, Tom at Outrageous and John/Sue JLP - awesome people! It was a great weekend! Not to mention the coors light bikini girls, yeah baby!

I did not reach my goal of 11's. I had three runs, Friday/Saturday for qualifying.

1 - a blue heavily modded Ranger handed my my pink slip with my run of 12.363 at 110.78 - this was my street file on 110 octane. oops!

2 - Tom at Outrageous showed me his tail lights out of the gate, but I only gave him three truck lengths for the distance, at least I held with him 12.413 ( I think he ran a 11.8?). I believe he set the recond for an eaton that day in another run at 11.60. NICE! I was running a new file, but had failed to warm up the engine - something about minimum of 180 degrees before the new file adapts? So that was useless.

3 - Another L owner (red), lower, cam work, eaton - I took him off the launch with a .122 reaction time (which was my best) and won with a 12.361 at 110.11 mph. What a feeling! I was running a new test file from John at JLP.

Then, big race day Sunday. The beginner of the group, yours truely is match with our none other that JR and his silver beast. Yeah only 21 years of race experience an a known .005 reaction time. Never the less, he was dialed at a second slower than me and on the launch I had a terrible reaction time of .346 - so out of the gate he had a 1.3 second lead and I couldn't catch him.

Most importantly John wrote me a new program for the final race and I dropped to a 12.294 at 111.08 even with a terrible 1.807 60 ft. The moral of the story according to John and Tom - torque converter = 11's. John recommended I try this before I get aggressive with a new chip file. He said the revolutions I am running is very safe/conservative and even with the conservative tune a stall converter will help to change that 60ft. Oh, by the way it was hot, damn hot in the high 80's, not the best weather for running our L's.

I will say this much, watching those modded Mustangs head down the track in the 8's and 9's had me thinking, just for a minute, what that would be like - just for a minute mind you.

D-Day

to all!
