Question Hoosier 10"W Slicks or QTP 14.5"W???

I do not have the shaved calipers/rotors, so I am limited to 16" wheels. My question is this.

For you guys that have tried both types:
Which Hoosier 16" Dia. slicks hook the best? 28 x 10.0 x 16 w/ C07 compound
or QPF 28 x 14.50 x 16 DOT streets?

One would think that the wider QPF's would hook better........but I am not sure this is the case because of different compounds used.

Does anyone on the board have experience with both?

thanks,

Franko

Before I get flamed for not doing a search
(which I have done).........I called the Hoosier tech rep in Indianapolis and he said that BOTH types use the same C07 compound. If he is correct, and I am not sure of that, then the wider QPF's should hook better. I would like input from someone who has actually done a comparison. thanks.

Franko,

Sorry I have not called yet, Been very busy(water heater went last night, left a nice little swiming pool in the basement) but anyway.
I run the QTPs 14.5x28x16 and they are great for mid to low 11s , but for the 10s I had to switch to a 30 inch tall (15 inch rim) tire. My only complaint about the 14.5s is they make a mess. They are so wide and stick out that after a burnout the truck is filthy. Wiping the rubber off the body gets old real fast.
I do like the DOT aspect of them though. It allows me to run more classes at FFW(Street Ford instead of Quick Ford) and my track that only allow DOT tires.

With my 10 second Set-up I did spin the QTPs every time no matter how I left the line.
I will probaly switch to the QTPs 28x11.5.16 for bracket racing.

Hope this helps.

I will try and call tonight. If not tomorrow for sure.
