some interesting things with this plasma booster

Well I filled up the L for the first time after installation of the Plasma Booster.

19.5 mpg

I couldn't believe it! I'm like, no freakin way! This thing was getting around 14 some mpg before. I was playing a little in it but not too much. I filled up again and marked it to check this out again. I'll be driving from San Diego to Ohio here in a week, so there is a great time to really get a true number. I talked to another person at work I knew who had one installed and he said it gave him an additional 5 mpg on his saturn, and this just did the same thing on my L. Obviousely my figure is not a lie to me. Total surprise!

Some observations:

This really worked with the NGK TR55IX plugs. I put the Denso IT16's in it and lost the torque this was producing. I don't know, not sure why but it was really noticeable. I put the NGK's back in and the power it was making showed back up. I compared the plugs and the NGK's protrude in the cylinder more than the Denso's, plus the NGK's are suppose to be a step colder than stock. I don't know, that is one for the theory gurus.

The exhause note is healthier with more of a rumble to it off idle and cruising. It has more spunk to it on the low end.

A few people said this unit did not work for them. All I can say is maybe the unit they had was not working right. I wouldn't insult their intellegence by saying they hooked it up wrong, these are too easy. Other than that, it is working as described. More than I expected really.

Max,

This is from a rather reserve modded L. I still have the stock blower pulleys on it. I do have a new complete magnaflow exhaust with the 3 inch cats on it, a single blade TB, a cone filter, oil separator, and a superchips microtuner program installed besides the plasma booster and plugs.

It is quite a surprise to me still.

Dave: This is NO flame. I too have a PB on that I installed. 24K ago. I keep all my gas records and compute my mpg about every 3-5 tank fillings. I drive moderately(after-all, I'm an ol' 'fart') to and from work on an interstate. I run at 70-85 mph much of the time. I rarely go WOT. I have a 5 lb pulley, CAI, c/b, th/body, chip, etc. I got 14-15 mpg before my PB and I get 14-15 mpg now.

I hope(for your sake) you're correct but I have a real problem believing your mpg could jump that much. Let us know more as you use it over a longer period of time .

Dan,

I'm noting observations, nothing more. I'm not trying to sell the unit to anyone here. I can only say what I'm seeing at the moment, but like I posted, I will be making a trip from out here in San Diego to Ohio next week.

That will be highway miles but it tell me more.
