Autometer vs. lo-tek

Ive searched!!!!

ive got a 03L, and im wanting to go with a 2 guage ful pillar pod, but there was alot (almost too much) info in the history...

from what i saw, lo-tek was supposed to come out with a new fit for the lightning last year, does anyone recently have any experience with the lo-tek pods? have they got any better lately?

and autometer had a bunch of mixed reviews, does anyone have any experience with a recent purchase of that pod?

thanks...dennis

I just installed an Autometer single column mount pod; it fit very well with no trimming. I have not tried the pillar pods.

Yes, but you have a 2002 L. I believe they changed the pillar in the 2003 L, and then none of the pillar pods would fit correctly.

yeah, thats where i was getting confused too...some years were having problems with lo-tek, others with autometer?!? and somewhere in the 02 production, they changed the 'a' pillar too? so some 02's would fit and some wouldnt!?!?

rkoenig, ive heard that from a few people now, right now im leaning toward the autometer...do you have the 'rounder' o'***** handles, or the ones that are more square?

does anyone with an 03 have any experience?

chris, why did you choose autometer? did you do any research, or did you know someone who had that pillar? how does the quality look?

Ive had both and the color is VERY hard to match.when using the autometer pods,You need to HACK the ***** out of the factory one for wires and it is held in by little push pins.I like the lotek myself,Its prepainted and is a full pillar not just cover. You just unplug the old and put in the new.if you buy a autometer one,You might as well buy another factory one too if you ever plan on taking it out .02

lightningquick, let me get this straight...

the autometer is a pod that goes ove the factory a pillar, and the lo-tek replaces it completely?
