how many lightning owners have hit 500 rwh

how many lightning owners here have reached 500rwh with the stock rods and eaton/ported supercharger.

What are your mods.

i'm very close

here's mine

6lb lower pulley, boost bypass, Daiblo flip chip, kooks stainless long tube headers, JDM catback exhaust, duel electric fans, cobra r electric water pump, JLP intake, accufab 1696cfm single blade throttle body,NGK TR6 plugs,Metco idler relocate, Factory Tech valve body, b&m deep tranny pan, 2/4 lowering kit, JLP rancho's bars QA'1s rear shocks, bell tech front coil springs,KYB-- front gas shocks , Alpine and JL stereo equipment.

without adding custom air conditioning for your block

Seriously though, if i added the ported s/c i would be over 500 RWHP (including the full exhaust coming in two weeks), but my tuner advised me that i would really be pushing the limit. For me i'd rather settle with 460 or so and be safe, than put it over 500 and always be worrying .... just my 02

Ummm yup...do the math....405 rwhp w/out the phenolic spacer and efan (i haven't had it dynoed with the spacer and the efan).....they add 13-18 each, then 30 hp for the exhaust (full exhaust not just a muffler) and another 25-35 for the ported s/c.....with the right tune (JDM) it will easily hit 500....

It's not typicaly simple math - "mods" arent always cumulative. With full exhaust, the efan and ported s/c you might be closer to 470. It's not just straight addition.

I have full exhaust, 8lb lower, apten, chip, intake, sbtb....450 rwhp.

Good luck with it, but if you get 18hp from a phenolic spacer then I think I will probably ***** myself

And I 'm thinking the efan is theoretical hp, like hp at the track, not on the dyno....

You're dyno numbers are high for just a 4#, so maybe you'll make it, but I think 500 on a 4# pulley is a bit too much to hope for.

Best of luck though

Good luck, but I kinda doubt those mods will get you there. I"m at 445 rwhp sae w: e fans, 170, chip, CAI, 4# lower, 1.5 upper, and an Apten ported Eaton. I don't believe my heat exchanger and magnaflow muffler help on the dyno.

Sounds like the truck shifted gears on the dyno and the HP spiked.

Why fuel injectors? do you have a kb or spray? I didnt think you would need biger injectors unless your spraying or running big boost. Are you still running stock fuel pumps?

When you increase boost above 14 psi research has found that the factory fuel injector become inadequate. The fuel injector flow must be matched to the airflow requirements of the engine over the entire rpm operating range. The injectors must be able to supply a large amount of fuel at wide-open throttle to prevent high rpm lean out,

i will upgrade the pumps once i see my numbers from the dyno for the apten. Our stock ones are good till around 16psi,

i believe boost kills motors than horsepower
yes they go hand in hand,
but more boost , more likley to see detonation

and detonation is what blows lightning blocks,

either 450rw or 500 if the tune is not right the bottom end will blow.

I run out of injector about 5k right now with my set up. I am getting the 55#'rs installed shortly and re-dyno'd. Hopefully it puts me in a safe range all the way across the rpm band....might even let me make another hp or two
