Its good to be Home!!!!!!!!!!

As much as I LOVED Florida. Its Good to be home.

I have SO MANY people to thank I do not know where to start.

First off THANKS to Jim and the JDM crew for getting my L done in time so I could even get to Florida.

I cannot express how appreciative I am of that.

Second- Thanks Mike Meyers (not the actor) for hooking me up w/ a used set of rear tires so I could get home.
If you didn't here , Evan Smith from MM&FF smoked the rears to the cords (LOL) at the burnout show at Hooters on Friday night. I am sure pics and videoes will be up soon.

Third, Thanks Dons Bolt for lending me his tires for a day while I got the others mounted.

Thanks Jamie for letting me run his L in Quick Ford (I won the first round, but Jamie needed the L back for tough truck), after I broke out in the first round of Tough Truck.

It was great meeting everybody (Ohwheelies, Mondo1, Lightning to go, DScottL and others) .Great guys and I enjoyed talking to them.

I went out the first round (broke out) . Was still figuring out my E.T. , But my Wife went 4 rounds in Street Ford and took home a Semi-Final Trophy. How cool is that!!!!!!!!!!

Truck ran great the whole ride there, burnout contests ,Racing and the whole ride home. That is a real testament to the JDM quality motor. A total of 2300 problem free miles.

When I bracket race I try to run mid 12s. It is much easier to be consistent at that E.T and easier to duplicate your 60 ft. run after run. Also I have no cage. I will run 11.60s at IHRA tracks though.

I had Jim turn it up a little for sunday and ended up picking up 5 tenths (and that was on the brakes).

All in all it was a blast and I came back with a tan. I highly recommend going to a FFW or NMRA or Lightningfest if you get the chance. It really is fun seeing and meeting other L owners.

The glow in the dark brakes are a pretty cool mod...LOL...where did you buy them at

That was only one of the videos! We actually have a total of four takes on Vinnie's truck doing some wicked burnouts. He first smoked his Hoosier quick time pro's to the ground. His wife Terry than got in and finished the job. They then put the street tires on in the Hooter's parking lot and somehow Evan Smith got ahold of the keys to his truck and destroyed his tires. We'll post videos later if its okay with Vinnie.

All in all it was an awesome weekend. It was the largest turnout of Lightnings that we have had in Florida. There was 33 trucks in the class and about another 10-15 in the car show. The track was junk on Saturday. Even the big tire cars were having serious problems getting down the track. Early Saturday morning during test and tune I drove Kevin White's (SKNHD) truck. First pass was a 10.74@128.6 spinning most of the way through first gear. We decided to detune it for qualifying. On the second pass it went 11.30's. We took out 8 pounds of boost and 4 degrees of timing. The next pass I had to qualify at 11.60 which means I had to run an 11.50 on Sunday. During Sunday eliminations I got one bye run in and ran it out the door and the truck ran an 11.40 which I thought was awesome for 12 pounds of boost and 11 degrees of timing. I made it all the way to the final round where I lost to one of our customers Don Justus. My light was a .582 and his light was a .566. I took the stripe by about 6 inches but he had the better reaction time. It was great to see five trucks go down to Florida from up north to support our class. Thanks to Don's Bolt, Jamie, SKNHD, Vinnie, and Al Walker. It was pretty cool to see a couple guys their from Texas including Paul Gamino, and 03LightningRocks. Razors Edge was their with a couple of their Lightnings as well. They had a Whipple charged 2003 Cobra their which looks to be a really neat kit. This was the best weekend I ever spent in Florida thanks to the Lightning community.

I made it Home Too

I just got home a little while ago, that was one long frucken ride, 24 hours each way. I want to thanks fomocofan(Jamie) for towing my truck down there, and congratts on a 3rd place finish. Vinnie I am glad you convinced me to go, as all the Florida ffolks treated us northern folks great.

I had a great time, but I am real tired and am going to take a nap.
I will try to post some more pics soon.
