Be sure to go to the dyno FIRST!

Just a reminder again, to go straight to the dyno if you are / have installed major mods!!! It is the best and safest way to keep your L from exploding. Case in point : mine!

Drove my L direct from shop to dyno. On the dyno we quickly found that I was running way to lean, at which time it was too late for 3 of my plugs. May be a bad chip or not getting enough fuel. The chip was tuned by John @JLP and was as safe as could be. Possibly the chip itself was defective. Either way, by going to the dyno, I lost 3 plugs, rather than melting my new pistons!!Thought I would put in my 2 cents!

Cheers

Michael

Been there, done that

Except mine was at the track
TG it's all that happen
quickcanuck, don't be so quick to blame the chip, (or JLP)
WHAT MODS HAVE YOU JUST DONE that this happen ???
If it's even a Mod that did it???

This did that to me

And bultaco370 (NOT THAT I RECOMMEND IT, BUT)
Mines Never ever been on a Dyno, and JLP manages to tune
mine FAST AND SAFE from hundreds of miles away

Hey Rob,
Not blaming JLP AT ALL. After talking with John, he is FedEXing me another chip to see if in fact that the actual chip may be malfunctioning. John mentioned that sometimes, albiet very rarely, the chip may not take a tune properly. When I swap the chip out we will see. John for his part was awesome to get me out another chip right away.
Just trying to figure out why this all happened. Once I eliminate the chip, then it has to be a fuel problem, for the very reason that the dyno A/F reading was close to 15:1. I ordered a 60lb injector from PSP, which will be here at the end of the week. If its not the injectors then I will replace my fuel pump.
My mods...where do I start? Everything in my sig. is new.
Any suggestions?

Sorry Mike
That came out wrong, I didn't mean it to sound like you were
Blaming JLP, I meant don't blame the tune, but after seeing all your NEW MODS, all I can say is, HOLY 10 SEC LIGHTNING IN A BOX. That is hard to tune for all at once

BTW, --> NICE MOD'S BRO <--
01 L - 8lb pulley,s/blade t/body,airaid,JLP delta chip,Apten ported s/c, FTVB, Cobra R w/pump, JLP e/fan,stage 2 cams,50 shot Nitrous Express,JLP built block.

See for me, I had 6 former tunes FOR MY MODS before going to Johnny, so once he had my chip in his hands he pretty much knew where I needed to be. Plus I run Multi Spark Ignition, 2 Zones Colder Denso's, and a pig rich tune, so I have plenty of forgivness built into my tune. All it took was ONE reburn for each side of the chip with Johnny and I was in,
And thats only cause I asked for a little more aggresive tune on Both programs.

Sorry it came out wrong. Best of Luck, you got yourself one hell
of a Beast once your tuned and ready to rumble

I just got my L on a Dyno today and my A/F ratio was way too lean! It was past 14, Brian Herron (Good Dude) had to abort the first run and fixed the problem. Now my BR7s are good and so will the block!
