Minor Problems with Magnum Powers Install

Actually the blower went OK.

It's the Metco idler assembly I've got a problem with. Remember, I told you in the other thread that the rear inlet was lengthened and the snout shortened. Guess what? I forgot that the two Metco upper support brackets are justified off of the front of the blower case. Since effectively the snout has been moved forward about 3/4", the Metco spacers and mounting bolts need to be shortened accordingly. The bolts will have to have the threads cut deeper as well as I don't think I will be able find two metric socket heads that long locally. To complicate things, the MP snout casting is about twice as thick as the Eaton snout at the mounting bolt flange, so tomorrow I am going to have to spend some time figuring out exactly how much to shorten them. I can get the machine work done at work on Monday, so install won't be completed until sometime during the week.
I also upgraded from the 90 mm to the 100 mm Metco idler. Check out the belt wrap with the 100.

Oh, Check out my Eaton and intercooler

No cleanup on either.

11K miles since I put in the built engine. No seperator, no dime, no Cobra PVC valve. Just a breather cap on passenger side.

Glad to see it's on, looks great,
I like the look of the Magnum,
Sorry to hear about the issue with the Metco set-up Bob,
have you written anyone to make sure they don't offer
anything for this prob ???
You know, now that I think about it, I think it can ONLY be used on a stock Eaton and pulley, I remember when I enquired some time ago, that I couldn't use the Metco set up due to my Dial-Ur-Boost Quik Change Upper Pulley set up.

Why not just leave it off for now and go back to stock set up.
At least til you figure it out, I just know your dieing to make the voyage run

CONGRATS AND KEEP US POSTED

Rob

You're right that I'm anxious to see what it will do. But I also want to upgrade the injectors (which I don't have yet) before I really try it out. I know I'm gonna be lean with my current setup. I'm sure I can modify the Metco setup to work.

Wouldn't it be easier to solve the problem, by...say

selling it to someone with a ported EATON that drives a Silver Lightning in Joisey

Good Luck Lightning Bob getting everything worked out!

You should have read this post before you attempted the install.

I think it may work, but the bolts may have to be shortened...

That clears it up.

Rich,

Glad to see you're still with us. If I head east anytime soon, I'll let you know and maybe we can hook up.
