Blew out spark plug
Has anybody had this happen before? I was driving home from work one day, and something made me turn the radio down when I heard a poppin sound coming from under the hood. I pulled over and opened the hood just to see the number #3 spark plug, and pack jumping up and down. I shut the motor off and disconnected the wire to the pack, and the whole pack, and spark plug just came out. The plug threads was fine but the pack bracket was broke. Whats the cause? It`s still under warrenty, so Ford will do the repair, but will it happen again?Black 01 Lighting: Helix bore spacer / Cold air induction/ Ram air hood/ Flow master system/ Boost By pass kit /Super Chip
welcome to the club (the blown plug club that is)...well i'm not in the club (yet)...but judging by your post count you haven't heard about the plug "situation" .....do a search and grab a cup of coffee...there's plenty of threads about this topic....
Yes the Truck is still under warrenty, and I just finished taking all the after market stuff off. One guy that deals with lightings say the only thing to do is try to have Ford install the 03 lighting Heads on it. It`s said that Ford knows about the problem, and they fixed it on the 03 lighting by making the heads thicker where the spark plugs go in at. He said the 99-01 lightings have shallow ported heads, and thats why they keep throwing the plugs.( Should be a recall you think )
Sorry to hear it Kane
Hopefully they'll cover it under wrrnty, keep your fingers crossed.
Recall, ah ya after a few thousand spitters you would think,
but not in Fords eyes
BTW
WELCOME AND GOOD LUCK
