diablo predator, are they the way to go
diablo predator, are they the way to go
i am running a flip chip in my 99. i cant step on it at all in the winter and it starts pining. i was thinking of going to the diablo predator. i have a 90mm and a 2lb lower and was thinking of trying something different. i should just send my chip in for a more stock steet burn but i hate waiting. how do the people that are using them like them. thanks
I definately like mine
its easy to use and i know that when i need a new tune, theres no down time (thats a must for me since mines a daily driver).
...and when i get the ***** up i cant start messing around with my timing a little
you could even step up to a 4#

How easy / fast is it to flash with the Predator? I'm thinking that it's the wayt o go for me too, but I also like the idea of the flip chip. Cruising along on the highway, I want to run a normal tune, but when the Z06 pulls up next to me, I want to use the aggressive tune. Can the Predator accomodate that?
Thanks
Thanks
I love my PSP predator. I have nothing but praise for it so far
The "only" down side to the predator:
having to upload a new file to it when you want to change programs on the PCM.
I have a mini laptop with all my tune's stored locally. If I am going to use 100+ octane, i have to download the tune for it to my predator, then flash the PCM... however when I need street mode back, I have to download the street mode program to the predator, and then flash the pcm again...
being able to adjust shift points, idle speeds, adjust for different tire ratios, read real time data.. all make it worth while to me.
The PSP Predator gets a thumbs up from me

From what ive heard that is a NO. You can only have one program in the predator at a time. You could have a street program burned on your ECU and an agressive one on the predator and carry it with you at all times, but youd still have to pull over and download it. still wouldn't be like the flip chip. the Z06 would be long gone.
The only downside is the exact situation you describe. No changing at the flip of a switch. I love mine. Chnaging tunes is a snap, just follow the screen and answer the questions. I wouldn't go any other way. JMO
