Royal purple?

Im comin up on my next oil change quick...Ive been running mobil1 synthetic, i like it, but i wanna try royal purple. Two questions....is Royal purple racing oil #11 the best for lightnings? in the 5w20 weight? Secondly, www.oiltown.com seems to have a reallly good price on this oil? Is it a great deal? Has anyone actually ordered from them, is it a legit website?

I made the same switch, but I went with the 5w30 (living down in the tropics) and I bought my case from Tom at Outrageous (can't remember the price at the time, it was one of his specials). I was told that the 5w 30 was the weight to buy for warmer climates. If that helps?

I ordered a case from Oiltown about 6-8 months ago and had no major problems. The only issue I had it took a long time for it to arrive, but worth the wait because of their price. I ordered over the internet and that might of been the cause, or it was backordered. I sent them an e-mail asking for a status and three days later the oil was at my door. I went with the 5W20 since it is reccomended by Ford. I could not justify the additional cost of #11 when it is around the same weight as 5W20. You might see if Lightningrod responds since he uses #11

Thanks guys for your input...but I went ahead and bought the Royal Purple non-racing oil. I ended up goin to Performance Automotive Warehouse(PAW) in chatsworth. One sweet friggin store. First of all, the place is huge. But the best part is they have a badass museum in their retail section. They probably have 4-5 dragsters, 4-5 kikbut hotrods, and like 5 engines on display. It was like an oil "experience". Anyway, I wanted redline, but they didnt have 5w20(not sure if they even make it). And Im not sure if I trust racing oil, I dont really know how well itll hold up for longer change intervals, like 6000 miles. So I bought myself some 'regular' Royal Purple 5w20 and a fram filter. It was $5.82 a quart. Is this what yall use too?

Yep, I switched over to RP #11(5w20) Racin' oil at 4K. I've been using it now for almost 60K, changing it at 6-8K with a K&N Gold filter. My engine has never made any unusual noises, even at a 13 degree morning--never.

The last oil change, I changed over to RP's 'street' 5w20 oil and started using a Canton replaceable element filter(too expensive--wouldn't do Canton again) I' tihnk I'll continue with their 'street' oil but I like their raining oil too.

Btw, thanks for the link to the cheaper prices --very nice!

Dan
